Willard N. Cottrill, 91 of Bainbridge passed from this life Tuesday, March 24, 2026, at Adena Regional Medical Center, Chillicothe. He was born Wednesday, February 20, 1935, in Ross County to the late Clifford Ray and Myrtle (Shewalter) Cottrill. In June 1955 he married the former Judith Ann Cooper who died Monday, July 17, 2023. In addition to his parents and wife Bill was preceded in death by a granddaughter Miranda Potts and five brothers Everett (Thelma), Dale (Edith) , Clifford (Betty), Jim (Betty), Loren (Josephine) Cottrill, brother-in-law Frank Hahn, his step mother Eva M. Cottrill and seven step brothers and sisters.
He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law Cindy and Eugene Potts; great grandson Jace Kuhn; one who was like a granddaughter, Melissa Knisley; sister Donna Hahn; nieces Sharon Detty, Jackie Stone, Lorna Miller, Christine (Dan) Malone, Lee Ann (Chris) Washburn, and Linda Cottrill; nephews Scott (Beverly) Cottrill, Frank (Catherine) Hahn, Randy (Carol) Cottrill, and Denny Cottrill.
Bill was a graduate of Twin High School and shortly after graduation he joined the United States Airforce. In 1968 he became a member of the Bainbridge United Methodist Church where he was a 58 yr. member. He worked construction as a millwright through the years and as a construction superintendent. He was a proud member of the American Legion Post 14, Bainbridge and a past member of the Oddfellows.
In his free time Bill enjoyed working in his garage and watching the Ohio State Buckeyes.
Graveside services will be held Saturday July 18th at 11 am, in the Twin Township Cemetery with Pastor Larry McCoy officiating and with military honors by the Ross County Honor Guard and the US Airforce.
A meal will be provided for family & friends, following the service at Bainbridge United Methodist Church.
In lieu of flowers the family ask that contributions be made to Paint Valley Ministries Food Pantry c/o BUMC Box 528 Bainbridge, OH 45612.
The SMITH-MOORE-EBRIGHT Funeral Home, Bainbridge is serving the family.
