Walter Timothy Ragland Sr.

Walter Timothy "Tim" Ragland, Sr. 67, of Frankfort, passed away on Thursday, June 25, 2026, at his home with his family at his side. He was born on Friday, January 30, 1959, in Chillicothe, a son of the late Forrest M. and Faywon Wright Ragland. On Valentines Day in 1994, Tim married the former Sonia L Blakeman.

He is survived by his wife, Sonia L. Ragland, one son; Walter T. (Erica) Ragland, Jr., one daughter; Mara F. Ragland all of Chillicothe, five grandchildren; Jaslyn Erin Renee Kimball, Walter Timothy Ragland, III, Hope Marie Ragland, Zayleigh Nicole Ragland and Kiah 'Anna Faylee Lawson, one sister; Rebecca Locklear of Oberlin, OH and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Tim was preceded in death by one daughter; Kiah M. Ragland, two brothers; Forrest Ragland, Jr. and Loren Ragland and one brother-in-law; George Locklear, Sr.

Tim was a 1977 graduate of Adena High School. He was an outstanding athlete at Adena where held the record for the Long Jump for many years. He also excelled in the football and basketball program at Adena. He also was a Black Belt in Karate and taught and competed in Karate. Tim was a hard worker and was an excellent concrete finisher. He worked for Wright Brothers Concrete, Mark Smith Concrete and went on to work for himself for several years.

His family wants to acknowledge and send a special thank you to those who helped care for Tim for many years. Your help and concern is greatly appreciated.

A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, June 30, 2026, at 1 p.m. in the EBRIGHT FUNERAL HOME, Frankfort with Craig Reichert officiating. Following the funeral service, Tim will be laid to rest in Greenlawn Cemetery, Frankfort beside his daughter, Kiah. Family and friends will visit at the funeral home on Tuesday from 11 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 1 p.m.
