Verna "Jo" Gullette

Verna "Jo" Gullette, of Chillicothe, passed away on Tuesday afternoon, August 29, 2023, at Riverside Methodist Hospital, Columbus, following an extended illness. She was born on April 6, 1948, in Chillicothe, to Vernon and Oma Lowery Gullette.

Jo is survived by her son, Tracy Schoenholtz; sisters, Phyllis Eastep and Patti (Clay) Miller; nieces, Rhonda Stacey, Vicki (Tom) Curtis, Lia Eastep; nephew, JR Stacey; close friends, Jackie Dearth and Mike Barney; and "special grandchildren," Erika and Jamie Gray. She was preceded in death by her parents, brother-in-law, Larry Eastep, and nephew, Kipley Eastep.

Jo graduated from Unioto High School in 1966, where she was a majorette, homecoming queen, and Miss Ross County. Jo worked as a bus driver for the Chillicothe School District for more than 30 years, transporting handicapped children and sports teams. Living on cherished family property where her father built many of the homes, Jo enjoyed working in her yard and crafting. She was a loyal mother, daughter, sister, neighbor, friend, and pet owner.

A memorial service for Jo will be held on Saturday, September 16, at 2:00pm, in the EBRIGHT FUNERAL HOME, Frankfort. Family and friends can visit with Jo's family on Saturday from 12pm until the time of the service. Anyone wishing to make a donation in Jo's name, the family suggests a charity of your choice.
