Thelma Bowdle

Thelma Rose “Sis” Bowdle, age 86, passed away at 10:10 a.m., Saturday, November 12, 2022 , surrounded by her family, at National Church Residence – Chillicothe. She was born  on Wednesday, February 12, 1936, the daughter of the late Harvey and Helen Mae Garrison Jordan. Thelma married Homer “Shorty” Bowdle on September 8, 1951, and he preceded her in death on August 6, 2010.

Surviving are her children: David (Karen) Bowdle, Wendy (Tom) Justice, Karen (Chris) Bowdle and Lori (Kevin) Chester, four grandchildren: Krista (Kevin) Shoults, Matt (Kara) Justice, Chad (Amanda) Bowdle and Nick Chester, two great-grandchildren: Maddi Shoults and Dawson Makenzie Justice, one sister: Linda Zimmerman and one brother, Gary Jordan. She was preceded in death by one sister, Charlotte Zurmehly.

Sis was a wonderful mother and homemaker! She loved reading, puzzles and many that knew her remember her awesome cinnamon rolls. She never graduated high school, but after her children were grown, she went back and was very proud to get her GED.

The family would like to thank the staff of National Church Residences for their loving care, compassion and dignity they gave her.
