Tara M. Taylor, 45, of Washington C.H., passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, January 3, 2026, at the Riverside Methodist Hospital, Columbus. She was born in Athens, Ohio on Friday, May 23, 1980, the daughter of Wallace Kent Taylor and Susan Hawk Taylor. 

She is survived by her mother; Susie (Barry) Lykins of Frankfort, her father; Kent Taylor of Athens, a daughter; Reagan Taylor of Washington C.H. her maternal grandmother; Elaine Moody of Grove City and her paternal grandmother, Barbara Taylor of Athens. Also surviving are two sisters; Tonya Taylor of Frankfort and Tiffany (Chad) Slack of Matthews, NC, one brother; Zac (Makayla) Martin of Lancaster, OH, one step- sister; Jennifer Lykins of Chillicothe, one step-brother; Scott (Angie) Lykins of Frankfort, and her significant other; George Saltz, Jr. of Clarksburg. Tara is preceded in death by her maternal grandfather, Charles Hawk and her paternal grandfather, Wallace Taylor. 

Tara was a graduate of Miami Trace High School and then received an associate degree from Ohio University in Social Services. She was a Coordinator for the Wal-Mart Academy at the Walmart Distribution Center, Washington Court House. Tara traveled extensively and enjoyed hiking many places in the United States. While hiking, she liked looking for waterfalls, especially in North Carolina. She enjoyed attending concerts and one of her favorites to attend was Louder than Life. 

Tara was an organ and tissue donor. Her family honored her wishes and have restored life's promise for many families. 

Cremation has taken place and a celebration of Tara's life will be held on Saturday, January 24, 2026, at 2 p.m. in the EBRIGHT FUNERAL HOME, Frankfort where memories will be shared. Family and friends are welcomed to begin gathering at the funeral home on Saturday at 1 p.m. In lieu of flowers, Tara's family requests that memorial donations be made in her memory to the Ross County Humane Society, the Fayette Regional Humane Society or the American Stroke Association.
