Stephen R. Cook, 74, of Greenfield, died at 4:11 p.m. on Wednesday, May 4, 2016 at the Adena Regional Medical Center, Chillicothe. He was born March 22, 1942 in Middletown, Ohio, the son of Clarence E. and Koneta Harden Cook. On September 7, 1984 he married the former Patricia "Pat" McMurray who survives.
Also surviving is his father, Clarence E. Cook of Wilmington, one daughter, Rebecca Moore of Okinawa, Japan, four stepchildren, Genea Stayrook of Washington Court House, Timothy McGlone of Lakeview, Ohio, Tony McGlone of Bainbridge and Gregg McGlone of Greenfield, twenty grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and two more on the way, three sisters, Catherine (Charles) Greenberg of Okeechobee, FL, Sarah (Richard) Workman of Xenia and Cecelia (Ron) Dougan of Shelbyville, TN, along with several nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his mother, one stepdaughter, Rose McGlone and one brother, Mike Cook.
He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War. Steve was an excellent auto body repair and paint man. He was a member of the American Motorcycle Association and loved to take many trips on his motorcycle. He was an awesome grandfather to all of his grandchildren.
Funeral service will be held on Saturday, May 7, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. in the ANDERSON-EBRIGHT FUNERAL HOME, Greenfield. Burial will follow in the Cynthiana Cemetery where military honors will be accorded by the Ross County Veterans Honor Guard. Friends may visit with Steve's family on Saturday from 11 a.m. until the time of service.
