Roy Allen Gregg 88, of Bainbridge died 3:05 m Sunday, August 1, 2010 at the Laurels of Hillsboro. He was born August 16, 1921 in Ross County the son of the late Gilbert S. and Amy I. Rodes Gregg. On Setember 10, 1942 he married the former Jane Alice McGuire who died July 25, 2008.

Roy is survived by a son, Roy Allen (Marilyn Sue) Gregg of Bainbridge, three grandchildren; Ryan Gregg and Sara Mettler both of Bainbridge, Lana (Chad) Areledge of Laurelville, five great grandchildren; William Gregg of Bainbridge, Christoher Gregg of Washington CH, Leah Mettler of Bainbridge, Evan and Wade Areledge of Laurelville; a great great granddaughter, Jayden Gregg of Bainbridge; sister, June Gregg of Bainbridge; sister-in-law, Suzanne Benner Gregg of Bainbridge and 2 nieces.

He was redeceased by a brother, Frank Gregg.

Roy was a Navy Veteran of WW II and an Army Veteran too. He retired from the Veterans Administration as a Fireman after more than 20 years of service. He was a member of the Bourneville Presbyterian Church for many years.

Roy was also a member and ast officer of the Chater 419 Order of the Eastern Star of Chillicothe and the Bainbridge Lodge 196 of the Free and Acceted Masons.

Funeral services will be held 10 am Thursday, August 5, 2010 at the Smith-Moore-Ebright Funeral Home of Bainbridge with the Rev. Don Shoemaker officiating. Burial will follow in the Twin Townshi Cemetery with military rights accorded by the Ross County Honor Guard. Friends may call from 5-8 m Wednesday at the funeral home. The Order of the Eastern Star will have a service at 7:30 m followed by a Masonic service.
