Rosalind "Rosie" Brooks

Rosie passed away at home following a short illness on May 23rd, 2023.

She was born April 14th, 1936 in Dayton, Ohio to the late Grover and Gaynell (Finney) Beam. On September 3rd, 1954 she married Charles V. Brooks, who survives.

Also surviving are her children, Terry (Kathy) Brooks of Roanoke, Virginia; Kathy Jo (Don) Arbaugh of Casa Grande, Arizona; grandchildren: Susan (Kevin) Thomas; Michael Stewart; Matt (Crystal) Brooks; great-grandchildren; Kaitlynn (Tyler) Mumford; Alexis Brooks; Ethan Ross; Dane Liggins; Cole Brooks; Evie Liggins. She was predeceased by a granddaughter, Jennifer M. Brooks.

She also was predeceased by brothers Leroy W. Beam and Grover (Junior) M. Beam. She is survived by brother and sister-in-law James and Duanna Brooks.

She leaves behind and was preceded in death by many nieces and nephews.

Rosie was a graduate of Chillicothe High School, Class of 1954. She worked as a hairdresser 1968 to 1974. In 1997, she returned to work at the Ross County Board of Elections for ten years. She was a very talented seamstress. Quilting was a passion. She even upholstered furniture! She loved her Canasta Club. She met many treasured friends through these activities over the years. She attended Tyler Memorial United Methodist Church and had a strong faith.

The family would like to extend their gratitude and thanks to Adena Hospice for their help with Rosie's care. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Ross County Humane Society or St. Jude Children's Hospital in her memory. There will be no calling hours; a private graveside service will be held under the direction of Ebright Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery in Frankfort, Ohio.
