Robert Eugene Starr

Robert Eugene Starr, 92, of Frankfort, was reunited with his beloved wife, Bea, early Thursday morning, August 13, 2026, at 4:24 a.m. Bob died in the home that he and Bea raised their family. He was born on Saturday, October 14, 1933, at Austin, a son of the late James E and Neva Helen Smith Starr. Bob married the former Beatrice B. Cockerill on April 10, 1952. Bea preceded him in death on June 7, 2025.

He is survived by their three daughters; Roberta Kay Puchstein, Karen Sue (Bob) Colburn all of Frankfort, and Cynthia Lou (Steve) Yahn of Clarksburg. Bob is also survived by five grandchildren; Aaron (Patrice) Gibson, Holly (Bill) Markham, Lindsay (Derek) Smith, Dustin (Meghan) Yahn, and Megan (Dan) Houser, nine great-grandchildren; Liam, Wyatt, Katharen, David, Isaac, Emily, Stella, Lydia, and Lexey, and one brother; James R. Starr of Frankfort. He was preceded in death by one grandson; Adam Gibson, and his two brothers; Thomas, and William Starr.

Bob was a 1951 graduate of Frankfort High School. He was active in the Future Farmers of America in high school. He was a lifelong farmer and a member of the Farm Bureau. He served on the Board of Directors of Producers Livestock. He loved raising cattle and working with his bulldozer. Bob was a lifelong member of the Austin Methodist Church.

Bob's family would like to thank the many special nurses and workers with Heartland Hospice. Their help and support enabled them to keep their dad in his home. A special thanks to Bob's caregivers; Connie, Maria, Julie, and Ronnette.

A funeral service will be held at 12 noon on Tuesday, August 18, 2026, in the Ebright Funeral Home, Frankfort with Pastor Neil Foster officiating. Following the service, Bob will be laid to rest beside his wife, Bea, in Greenlawn Cemetery, Frankfort. Family and friends will visit on Tuesday from 10 a.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home.
