Robert Emerson Mark

Robert Emerson Mark 96 of Bainbridge passed away 2:24 pm Friday, July 24, 2026, and was reunited with his loving wife of 72 years. He was born Wednesday, June 25, 1930, in Ross County to the late George H. and Blanche (Ward) Mark. On Saturday, June 6, 1953, he married the former Virginia “Ginnie” A. Bethel, who claimed her reward on December 6, 2025.

Bob is survived by a brother Tommy Mark; several nieces and nephews; special friends Daniel and Serena DeGarmo and family, and his loving church family.

In addition to his wife and parents Bob was preceded in death by five sisters Jean Hertenstien, Julia Ann Tillis, Jane Mark, Donna Kellough and Clara Byers; five brothers Buddy, Ronnie, Sam, Dale and William “Bill” Mark.

Bob was a member of the church in Chillicothe, and he farmed, drove a truck and drove a bus for Paint Valley Schools for many years. He was also an Army Veteran serving from 1954-1956.

A covered dish dinner/potluck will be on Sunday, August 9, 2026, at 2 pm in Bob’s barn 6969 US 50 W. Bainbridge. A graveside service with military honors, by the US Army and the Ross County Honor Guard, will be held in the Bainbridge Cemetery on Tuesday, August 11, 2026, at 2 pm. Please no flowers, but memorial donations can be made to the church in Chillicothe. 2004 Western Ave Chillicothe.
