Phillip Eugene Hill

Phillip E. Hill, 87, of Greenfield, passed away on Friday, May 1, 2026, at his home. He was born in Greenfield on Sunday, January 1, 1939, the son of the late Walter Cyril and Mary Lucille Roberts Hill. On June 1, 1968, he married the former Wanda Jennette Howland who preceded him in death on November 7, 2007.

He is survived by his four stepdaughters; Kathryn (Ray) Swanson of Callahan, FL, Debbie (John) Burnett and Christina Gobiel all of Ft Myers, FL and Karen Wagoner of Greenfield, nine grandchildren; James, Kim, Eric, Jason, April, Diana, Denis, Amy, Jennifer, 18 great-grandchildren; Tori, Samy, Molly, Jaxon, Jimmu, Alyssa, Matthew, Aidan, Isaac, Bethany, Riley, Eli Lee, Bailey, Kaitlyn, Brenden, Macie, Mason, Alivia and 5 great-great-grandchildren; Luke, Ellie, Mason, Violet and Asher Winter one sister; Carolyn L. Barnhart of Greenfield, nieces and nephews; Duane (Nikki) Barnhart, Susan (Randy) Stewart, Deanna (Mike) Seely, Bruce (Christy) Barnhart, Eddie Hill and Katrina Williams, eleven great nieces and nephews and twelve great-great nieces and nephews. Phil was preceded in death by one stepdaughter, Sheila Elliott, his brother, Boyd Hill, brother-in-law, Harold Barnhart and 3 step sons-in-law; John Wagoner, Bob Gobiel and John Cooper.

Phil was a 1958 graduate of the Edward Lee McClain High School. He was a carpenter working with the Hill & Barnhart Construction for twenty years. He retired in 1982.

A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m., Thursday, May 7, 2026, in the Anderson-Ebright Funeral Home, Greenfield with Rev. Larry Dillard officiating. Following the service, he will be laid to rest in Greenfield Cemetery. Phil's family will visit with friends on Thursday from noon until the time of the service at the funeral home. After the cemetery service the family will host a celebration of life gathering at the Senior Citizen Center in Greenfield.
