Naomi Ruth Glandon

Naomi Ruth Glandon, age 87, of Frankfort, passed away peacefully and entered Heaven on Thursday, September 24, 2026. When she entered Heaven, she met her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, as well as all her family members who were waiting for her.

She was born on Tuesday, April 4, 1939, at Lattaville, a daughter of the late Charles H. and Helen Brown Carter. Ruth married Ivan L. Glandon on March 22, 1963, and he preceded her in death on March 8, 2011.

Ruth is survived by her children; Matthew Lane (Susan) Glandon of Clarksburg, Amy Ruth (Todd) Thomas and Joseph Patrick (Amy) Glandon all of Frankfort, one daughter-in-law; Amy Jo Glandon of Frankfort, seven grandchildren; Megan Glandon, Katie (Casey) Jones, Benjamin (Casie) Thomas, Jonathan (Karli) Thomas, Aaron (Mackenzie) Glandon, Carter Glandon and Caroline Glandon, three great-grandchildren; Brooks, Joelle and Scarlett Thomas and one brother; Norman "Doc" (Barbara) Carter of Clarksburg. Ruth was preceded in death by one son; Scott Edward Glandon, her sister, Jane Smith and her five brothers; Charles, Deane, Robert, John and Joseph Carter.

A graduate of Frankfort High School, class of 1957, Ruth was a member of the band. Rumor has it, that Mr. Steel said she was his favorite student, or at least his favorite baritone player. After high school, music was important to her as she always was interested in the Adena High School Band. After the band, a good southern gospel hymn was always enjoyable.

Ruth worked at many different offices in many different capacities, and she retired from Adena Local Schools where she was a budgetary clerk for several years. She was a prayer warrior and faithful member of the First Wesleyan Church in Chillicothe. Her faith was a testament to her love of God, and she truly shared that love with all that knew her.  

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Adena Hospice for the care, kindness, and compassion shown to Ruth and her family. They also extend big thanks to Aunt Barbara for her devotion and love in helping to care for "Foofie" over the past several months.

A gathering for family and friends will be held at the Frankfort Presbyterian Church on Sunday, October 4, 2026, from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Beginning at 4 p.m. a memorial service will be held with her nephews, Mark and Mike Smith officiating. Ruth will be laid to rest beside her husband, Ivan, on Monday morning at 10 a.m. in Greenlawn Cemetery, Frankfort.
