Nancy J. McIlvaine, 79, of Frankfort, passed away on Tuesday, January 5, 2021 at Four Seasons of Washington Nursing and Rehabilitation. She was born on October 15, 1941 in Marion, Ohio, the daughter of the late Hayes and Eileen Messenger Ulrey. On February 13, 1965 she married Charles P. McIlvaine who preceded her in death on January 20, 2018.
Nancy will be lovingly remembered by her children, Heather (Michael) McIlvaine-Newsad of Macomb, IL, and Chad (Gretchen) McIlvaine of Frankfort. She was Oma to her five granddaughters; Willow and Maren McIlvaine-Newsad, and Makayla, Kynleigh and Carlie McIlvaine. Nancy is also survived by her sister, Ann Pearl (Robert) of DeLand, FL, sister-in-law, Mary Ellen Sheridan of Asheville, NC, brother-in-law, Albert McIlvaine of Evans, GA and nephews Chuck Sheridan, Keim McIlvaine, Jeremy Sheridan, Robert Pearl, and Ryan Pearl. She was preceded in death by her sister-in-law, Nina McIlvaine and nephew, Steve McIlvaine.
Nancy was a 1959 graduate of Cardington High School where she was the Salutatorian of her class. She received her Bachelor’s Degree from the Bowling Green State University. She was an educator at Adena Local Schools and Pickaway-Ross Joint Vocational School for over 30 years. She was a member of the Frankfort United Methodist Church, American Field Service, and Delta Kappa Gamma.
Nancy will forever be remembered for her love, generosity, and pleasant demeanor. She will be greatly missed by many.
The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the caregivers at Four Seasons of Washington for their care and compassion for Nancy.
Following cremation, a graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, January 30, 2021 in the Greenlawn Cemetery, Frankfort. All in attendance will be required to wear facial coverings and observe social distancing.
