Mary Belle Hemmer

Mary Belle Hemmer, 85, passed from this world, December 26,2025 at Adena Regional Medical Center, after a brief illness. She was born April 27,1940 in Cynthiana, Kentucky, to the late James and Frances (Clifford) Richey. Mary was united in marriage on July 20,1973, to Robert Hemmer, who preceded her in death.

Mary is survived by her children Terry (Paula) Cox, Ruthanne Hemmer, Philip (Nancy) Hemmer, and daughter-in-law Maggie Hemmer; 11 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her sons Larry Cox and Terrence Hemmer; her daughter Mary Morlan. As well as her brothers Marshal, Jay and Andy Richey and her sister Jaunita McCreary.

Mary was a 1959 graduate of Xenia High School. She worked at Wright Patterson Air Force Base, and she was a member of the Bainbridge American Legion. Mary was an avid gardener, who loved her flowers, her cats, feeding the birds, and shopping.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her name to Fresh Fire Ministries, PO Box 275 Greenfield, Ohio 45123.

As per her wishes, she will be cremated with a graveside service 2 pm Saturday, January 3, 2026 in the Bainbridge Cemetery.
