Marilyn Eileen Skaggs

Marilyn E. Skaggs, 83, of Chillicothe, died at 5:18 a.m. on Monday, January 10, 2022, at Adena Regional Medical Center, Chillicothe. She was born on Tuesday, October 4, 1938, in Ross County, the daughter of the late Clyde Edward and Willo Mary Ellen Patterson Acord. On June 16, 1956, she married her husband of 65 years, David D. Skaggs.

In addition to her husband, Marilyn is survived by four children, Kay Skaggs-Willett of Brooksville FL, Tony Skaggs, Denise Ray, Mark (Lora) Skaggs, all of Chillicothe, six grandchildren, Carrie (Pete) Hunt, Joshua (Dominique) Ray, Erica Dunn, Zach Skaggs, Chelsea (Kyler) Mootz, and Coty Skaggs, eleven great-grandchildren, Blake, Brice, Haley, Haven, Gabriel, Mia, Cami, Ellisyn, Jameson, Juliana, and Rosalyn Eileen, one great-great-grandson, Austin, one sister, Patricia Edler of Chillicothe. Marilyn was much loved by her nieces and nephews, all of whom she was close to. She was preceded in death by one sister, Carol Spangler, and two brothers-in-law, Floyd Spangler and Paul Edler.

Marilyn was a 1956 graduate of Unioto High School. She was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church, where she also was a Sunday School teacher. Marilyn worked as a volunteer for the Adena Hospital gift shop, and was a 4H advisor for the North Fork Twigs.

A funeral service will be held at 12pm on Thursday, January 13, 2022 in the EBRIGHT FUNERAL HOME, Frankfort, with Pastor Robb Fowler officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery, Frankfort. Friends may visit with Marilyn's family on Thursday from 11 am until the time of service.
