Leo A. Downs

Leo A. Downs, 87, of Greenfield, died at 5:00 a.m., on Saturday, May 6, 2023, in Signature Healthcare of Fayette County, Washington Court House. He was born on Friday, August 16, 1935, in Ross County, to the late Lewis and Verna Irons Downs.

He is survived by his children, Scottland (Teresa) Downs of Greenfield, Rebecca (Mike) Baker of Washington Court House, four grandchildren, Jacquie Baker, Harley Baker, Makenna Baker, Michael Baker, one great-grandchild, Jaxton Coburn, three sisters, Elsie Shope, Lucy Cartwright, both of Washington Court House, and Nancy Ritter of Circleville. He was preceded in death by four sisters, Eleanor Newland, Emma Benson, Kitty Overly, Clara Carter, three brothers, Ralph Downs, Richard Downs, and Farrell Downs.

Leo enjoyed fixing cars and mowers. He got joy simply from helping those in need.

A funeral service for Leo will be held on Tuesday, May 9, 2023, at 1 p.m., in the EBRIGHT FUNERAL HOME, Frankfort, with Terry Washburn officiating. Burial will follow in Good Hope Cemetery, Good Hope. Family and friends can visit with Leo's family on Tuesday from 11 a.m. until the time of the service.
