LB “Curly” Tackett 87 of Bainbridge passed from this life Saturday, June 13, 2026, at his home following an extended illness. He was born Wednesday, April 26, 1939, in McDowell, KY to the late Frank and Birdie Tackett. On October 13, 1979, he married the former Roberta Smith, who survives.
He is also survived by six children Dan (Judy) Tackett, Deena (Mike) Whitley, Karen (Mike) Anderson, Diana Cox, Jennifer Williams and Frank (Teri) Tackett; 12 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; sister Judy Howell; several nieces, nephews and friends, including his good friend Jack Yoakem.
In addition to his parents Curly was preceded in death by sisters Phyllis Hackworth and Betty Mullins and brothers Windell, John and Beverlee Tackett.
Curly was a hard worker and was a truckdriver for many years. He was a member of the Great Seal Wings Chapter P2, the Ross County Horseshoe Club, and the Bainbridge Senior Citizens. He liked to play cornhole and he loved his horses and dogs.
The family would also like to thank the Adena Hospice workers for their care; Curly really enjoyed them stopping in.
Funeral services will be held 12 pm Saturday, June 20, 2026, at the Bainbridge United Methodist Church with Dana Schimdt officiating. Burial will follow in the Bainbridge Cemetery. Friends may visit with family from 5-8 pm Friday at the church and one hour before the service at the church on Saturday. In lieu of flowers contributions can be made to the Bainbridge Senior Citizens PO Box 724 Bainbridge, OH 45612.
