Kenneth L. Wipert

Kenneth L. Wipert 76 of Chillicothe went home to be with the Lord Monday, July 28, 2025, from his residence while surrounded by family. He was born Thursday, August 26, 1948, in Ross County to the late Lawrence E. Wipert and Elizabeth Mae (Lykins) Murray.

On January 20, 1966, he married, his wife of 59 1/2 years, Dianne Sue (McGuire) Wipert. Together they were blessed with five children Kevin (Linda) Wipert, Tonya (Mike) Knapp, Keith (Betty) Wipert, Tina (Marty) Bowling and Theresa (John) Penrod; 10 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.

Ken is also survived by one sister Glenda DeWitt of Springfield, along with many other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, several brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law including Robyn McGuire, who was like one of his children.

Ken was member of the Pleasant Valley Christian Union Church for many years where he loved to sing and play the piano. He loved reading God’s word, visiting the sick, witnessing and helping those in need. He was also a hardworking man who retired from RCI and he enjoyed woodworking and tinkering in his garage.

Ken battled with prostate cancer for 25 years. He always knew God would take care of him and heal him whether it be in this world or in Heaven. He fought the battle to the very end because he wanted to see it through. Now he is at home with the Lord and free from all pain.

The family would like to send a special thank you to the nurses, aides and Chaplin Aaron from National Church Residency Hospice Care, for their great care, love and support for Ken and his family; it was greatly appreciated.

Funeral services will be held 1 pm Thursday, July 31at the SMITH-MOORE-EBRIGHT FUNERAL HOME of Bainbridge with Rev. Greg Trent and Rich Cottrill officiating. Burial will follow in the Twin Township Cemetery. Friends may call from 11 am until 1 pm on Thursday at the funeral home.
