Kay L. Miner, Frankfort, Ohio, passed onto her heavenly home on Monday, July 7, 2025 at her home. Kay was born on Thursday, September 9, 1937 to the late Benton Clark and Martha R Sturgeon Lane in Frankfort, Ohio. On November 11, 1956, Kay married Philip Miner. Kay and Philip shared 43 happy years of marriage together. Philip preceded Kay in death on May 19, 2000.

Kay was a 1955 graduate of Frankfort High School. After graduation, Kay completed a medical aid training course at Chillicothe Hospital. She also provided private aid care. Kay and Philip spent time in El Paso, Texas while Philip was in the U.S.Army. In El Paso, they met their lifetime friends, Dick and Dorcas Mahan of Maine. Upon returning back to Ohio, Kay and Philip spent their years on the Rogers Road farm raising crops, livestock and their two sons Jay and Jim . Kay was always a dedicated farm wife and an intricate part of the farm operation.

Kay enjoyed many local school sports games and was always fortunate to have Judy & Chuck Sowers, Jenny & Matt Sykes and/or Pam Preston to take her to such events. She enjoyed playing cards with all of her friends: Ponytail @ Kate Kruger's, Canasta and her Rummy Dummies group. Kay also was an active member of Frankfort Garden Club as well as a lifelong dedicated member of the Frankfort Presbyterian Church. Kay also enjoyed camping at the Ross County fair, trips to Maine and watching Ohio State Buckeyes football and basketball.

Kay is survived by her two grandsons Jayson Philip Miner and Logan Jameson Bennett. She is also survived by two great grandchildren, Jayme Kay Miner and Jay Philip Miner. She was preceded in death by her two sons: Jay L Miner and James Philip Miner. Kay was also preceded in death by brothers and sister-in-law's: Gar and Phyllis Lane and Joe and Henrietta Lane. Kay was also preceded in death by one grandson, Jonathan Clark Miner. Also proceeding in death was a nephew, Joe A. Lane. Surviving Kay are the following family members: nephew Lee Lane, niece Judy (Chuck) Sowers, Niece Gale Lane, Niece Karen (Mark) Dewitt, Niece Tracey (Todd) Uhrig, Niece Petrea (Ben) Junk, Nephew John (Joy) Hirsch, Nephew Rob (Tamantha) Hirsch, Nephew Chris Hirsch, and Sister-in-law Linda Hirsch. Kay also had two special daughter-like people in her life, Teresa Franklin and Jeanette Lowe.

The family wishes to thank everyone who stopped by to visit Kay, sat with Kay, brought delicious food, beautiful flowers, and sent cards. Kay loved all of her family and her friends very deeply. A special thank you to Adena Hospice for their excellent care of Kay.

In keeping with Kay's request, family and friends are asked to gather for a graveside service at the Greenlawn Cemetery, Frankfort, on Friday, July 11, 2025 at 11 a.m. Todd Thomas and Craig Reichert will officiate the service. Following the service, Kay will be laid to rest beside her husband, Phil. Kay also requested that no calling hours be held. The EBRIGHT FUNERAL HOME, Frankfort is serving the family. Family and friends of Kay's are welcomed to a meal and fellowship time at the Frankfort Presbyterian Church fellowship hall, 52 W. Springfield St., Frankfort. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial contributions be made in her memory to the Frankfort Presbyterian Church, PO Box 356, Frankfort, OH 45628.
