Kathleen Ragland

Kathleen M. Ragland, 87, of Frankfort, died peacefully at 12:15 a.m. on Saturday, April 15, 2023. She was born in Ross County on Tuesday, July 30, 1935, a daughter of the late Adam H. and Icy Marie Locklear Payne. She married Roger Ragland, Sr. on June 10, 1954, and he preceded her in death on December 14, 2014.

Kathleen is survived by one son, Roger (Shelley) Ragland, Jr., of Chillicothe, three grandchildren and two great grandchildren, one sister, Pat (Frank) Harris of Frankfort, three brothers, Elmer Payne of Oakland, CA, William Payne of Pataskala and Roger Payne of Greenfield. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by one son, Phillip Martin Ragland, one sister, Cherry (Glenn) Coleman and three brothers, Jesse, Adam and David Payne.

She was a 1954 graduate of Frankfort High School. Kate retired as a cashier at the Big Bear Grocery Store where she had worked for 33 years. She was a member of the Zion Baptist Church in Chillicothe.

A private graveside service will be held at the convenience of her family in Greenlawn Cemetery, Frankfort. She will be laid to rest beside her husband, Roger, following the service. A memorial service will be held at a later date. The EBRIGHT FUNERAL HOME, Frankfort is serving the family.
