Katherine B. Newman

Katherine B. Newman, 82, of Frankfort, died at 3:33 a.m. on Saturday, January 8, 2022, at Adena Regional Medical Center, Chillicothe. She was born on Wednesday, October 25, 1939, in Waverly, the daughter of the late Boonie F. and Idabelle Brooks Williams.

Katherine was a loving mother to her two children, Susan Lynn Newman of Frankfort, and Bob (Karen) Newman of Chillicothe. In addition to her children, Katherine is survived by a niece, Teresa Richroath of Mechanicsburg, MD, nephew, Jimmy (Freda) Cenac of Houma LA, and close friends Roy & Fay Hill. She was preceded in death by one sister, Dorothy “Cookie” Richroath.

Katherine was a graduate of Chillicothe High School and received an Associate Degree in Social Services from Ohio University. She retired from having worked as a case manager for Frontier Community Services and loved making connections with those in the special needs community. Katherine was a member of the Frankfort United Methodist Church, and the Scioto Paint Valley Mental Health Center. She loved OSU and Cincinnati Bengals football.

A graveside service will be held on Friday, January 14, 2022, at 1 p.m. at the Greenlawn Cemetery, Frankfort, with Pastor AJ Bernard officiating. Friends can visit with Katherine’s family at the EBRIGHT FUNERAL HOME, Frankfort, on Friday from 11 a.m. to 12:45 p.m.. Memorial contributions are suggested to the Ross County Humane Society, 2308 Lick Run Rd, Chillicothe OH 45601, in honor of Katherine’s love of dogs, donations may be made online here.
