Karen I. Speas

Karen I. Speas, 70, of Chillicothe, passed away Friday morning, July 18, 2025, at the Adena Regional Medical Center, Chillicothe. She was born in Akron, Ohio on Wednesday, January 26, 1955, a daughter of the late Gary R. and Gloria N. Cross Speas.

Karen is survived by one brother; Gary "Pete" Speas, Jr. of Phoenix, AZ, one stepbrother; Chuck Comstock of Orange, CA. She is also survived by two very special people who were her house mates; Candace and Susie, and by her cat, Cocoa, who was a special joy to Karen. She was preceded in death by her father and stepmother; Gary and Janice Speas, her sister, Ruth and a brother, Thomas.

Karen was a special person. Over the years, she was assisted by many staff members at the Ross County Developmental Disabilities, who help her maintain her independence. A special "Thank You" goes out to them and the staff at ViaQuest.

A funeral service for Karen will be held on Wednesday, July 23, 2025, at 12 pm, in the EBRIGHT FUNERAL HOME, Frankfort with Pastor John Hocker officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery, Chillicothe. Calling hours will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday beginning at 11 am until the time of the service.
