Judith Ann Cottrill

Judith Ann (Cooper) Cottrill 88 of Bainbridge, Ohio passed from this life Monday, July 17, 2023 at her home. She was born Monday, June 3, 1935 in Spargursville, Ohio to the late Harley W. and Clara B. (Mark) Cooper.

She is survived by her husband of 68 years Willard “Bill” N. Cottrill; daughter Cindy (Eugene) Potts; great grandson Jace Kuhn; caretaker Melissa Knisley and a lifelong friend Joanne Hatmaker.

In addition to her parents Judith was preceded in death by a granddaughter Miranda Lee Potts and her sister Linda Lou Cooper, who passed April 23, 2023.

After graduating from Twin High School Judith attended the College of Music in Cincinnati. After leaving college she worked at the Pike County atomic plant for a short time. Once she became a mother, she enjoyed her time at home with her family. Through the years she had a love for music and would give piano lessons. Judith was a member of the Bainbridge United Methodist Church since 1965 and she was also a member of the Bainbridge Historical Society. She loved talking to everyone she met. Some feel Judith probably missed her calling as an investigator since she loved to ask lots of questions. She really enjoyed reading and traveling. She in many ways was like her grandmother, if the car door was open, she would be ready to go.

Cremation will take place and a memorial service will be held 1 pm Saturday, August 12, 2023 at the Bainbridge United Methodist Church with Pastor Larry McCoy and Rev. Dane Knapp officiating. A private interment will be held in the Twin Township Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers the family ask that contributions be made to Paint Valley Ministries Food Pantry c/o BUMC Box 528 Bainbridge, OH 45612 .
