Juanita E. Smith 99 of Bainbridge passed from this life 6:30 am Thursday, June 8, 2017 at Hearth and Care of Greenfield. She was born June 5, 1918 in Louisville, KY the daughter of the late Frank and Lucy Schladenhaufen Jackson. On June 5, 1941 she married Samuel W. Smith who died in 1983.

She is survived by her children, Roberta (Curly) Tackett and Marshall (Judy) Smith, Sr. all of Bainbridge and Brian (Jaron) Smith of Hillard; 7 grandchildren and several great and great-great grandchildren; and her caregivers, Regina Six and Sue Acord. In addition to her parents and husband Juanita was preceded in death by a sister, Carol Meyers and a brother, Frank Jackson.

Juanita was a 40 year member of the Bainbridge United Methodist Church where she was a former member of the choir and member of the United Methodist Women. She was also a member of the Bainbridge Senior Citizens and past member of the Bainbridge Garden Club. She also loved to sew and bake.

Funeral services will be held1:30 pm Monday, June 12, 2017 at the Bainbridge United Methodist Church with Pastor Matt Brookes officiating. Burial will follow in the Bainbridge Cemetery. Friends may visit with Juanita’s family from 11 am until the time of service at the church on Monday. Memorial contributions may be made to the Bainbridge United Methodist Women c/o Jane Knott Box 528 Bainbridge.
