John Wesley Stinchcomb
John Wesley Stinchcomb 84 of Bainbridge and formerly of Springfield died 1:30 pm Tuesday, August 24, 2010 at his residence. He was born July 21, 1926 in Fostoria, Ohio the son of the late Grant James and Cora McGugin Stinchcomb.
On May 16, 1958 he married the former Ellen Joanne Stapleton, who survives. Also surviving are 2 sons, Bryan Lee Stinchcomb of Bainbridge and Grant Wesley (Carrie) Stinchcomb of Chillicothe; 3 grandchildren, Grant Wesley Stinchcomb, Jr. Cassie Detty and Tabitha Salley all of Chillicothe; 2 sisters, Evelyn (Ken) Keller of Springfield and Anna Mae Journell of Texas; and several nieces and nephews.
John was predeceased by a sister, Mary Cutshall and 3 brothers, Lewis, Pete and OG Stinchcomb.
John was very involved in the community. He was a member of the Bainbridge United Methodist Church and the Bainbridge Senior Citizens. He helped with the Fall Festival of Leaves for many years and was involved in the YMCA Indian Guides of Springfield.
John was an Army veteran of the Korean Conflict.
In accordance with JohnA's wishes cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held at a later date.
