John J. Boyd, 75, of Greenfield, died on Friday, December 23, 2022, at 3:32 a.m. at Hospice of Dayton. He was born on Friday, November 14, 1947, in Greenfield, the son of the late Perry Lee and Agnus Catherine Howard Boyd.
John is survived by his loving sister, Beverly Ralston of Greenfield. He is also survived by many friends and neighbors who prayed for him during his illness. In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by his brother-in-law, Lowell Ralston.
John was a 1965 graduate of the Edward Lee McClain High School. At the Greenfield Church of Christ, he accepted Jesus as his Lord and Savior and was baptized. John later attended the Greenfield United Methodist Church where the minister and John were instrumental in leading the Boy Scouts in Greenfield. John retired as a Deputy Clerk for the Highland County Court in Greenfield.
A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday, December 30, 2022, in the ANDERSON-EBRIGHT FUNERAL HOME, Greenfield with Pastor Roger Newkirk officiating. John will be laid to rest in Barnes Cemetery, Hillsboro. Relatives and friends may visit with his family at the funeral home on Friday from 11 a.m. until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers, Beverly requests that memorial contributions be made in John’s name to Hospice of Dayton, 324 Wilmington Ave., Dayton, OH 45420.
