Jean Ward

Jean Ward, 80, of Frankfort, died peacefully in her home surrounded by her family on Tuesday, August 11, 2020. She was born on Wednesday, March 13, 1940 in Jackson, the daughter of the late Lewis and Ruth Baxter Morgan. On September 27, 1958 she married Jerry L. Ward  and he survives.

Also surviving are her two daughters, Teresa (Nick) Franklin of Xenia and Melaney (Jeff) McCabe of Washington C.H., two grandchildren, Jayson Miner of Frankfort and Morgan (Fred) McCluskey of Frankfort, two great grandchildren, Jayme Kay and Jay Philip Miner and a special little one, Jayse,  special niece, Lisa Morgan of South Bloomingville, nephew, Carey (Debbie) Morgan and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Lewis A. and Ruth Morgan, her loving grandson, Jonathan Miner whom she dearly loved.

Jean loved flowers and growing her flowers. She found her love of flowers when she worked for Irene Furbee at Frankfort Florist in the 1970’s. In 1985, she opened Ole Towne Flowers. Jean loved all of her customers and enjoyed making beautiful arrangements. After selling the shop, she worked at Pat Catan’s in Washington C.H. She loved making people happy with her beautiful arrangements.

Friends are asked to attend the graveside service on Friday August 14, 2020 at 2:30 p.m. in Greenlawn Cemetery, Frankfort. All those attending are to wear proper facial coverings and maintain social distancing. Jean’s funeral service will be private at her church, Maple Grove Christian Union Church with Pastor Brett Smith officiating.
