Howard "Junior" Simkins, Jr.

Howard “Junior” Simkins, Jr., 85, of Chillicothe, died at 1:37 p.m. on Thursday, March 10, 2022, in the Adena Regional Medical Center, Chillicothe. He was born on Sunday, June 21, 1936, in Greenup County, KY the son of the late Goldie Madden-Lee. Junior married the former Bestie J. Pitts and she proceeded him in death on March 10, 2018.

Junior is survived by one child, Howard S. Simkins of Chillicothe, four grandchildren, Howard J. Simkins, Stephanie Simkins, Elizabeth Simkins, and Forrest Simkins, three great-grandchildren, Brady James, Michael Stephen, and Jason Daniel Simkins, several great-great grandchildren, two sisters, Ramona Konieck and Genevieve Bryant, both of Clarksburg, one sister-in-law, Beverly Simkins of Frankfort. He was preceded in death by one brother, George “Jim” Simkins, and his stepfather, Joe Cephus Lee.

Junior worked as an equipment operator for Melvin Stone for several years. He loved his family, enjoyed horses, and was deeply rooted in his faith.
