Helen Houser, 92, of Greenfield, died on Saturday, September 6, 2025, at Fayette Adena Medical Center, Washington C.H. She was born on Monday, July 10, 1933, in Ross County, a daughter of the late Rev. Blenn and Josephine Johnson Day. Helen married her husband of 57 years, Raymond W. Houser on July 16, 1951, and he preceded her in death on July 30, 2008.
She is survived by one son; Billy Ray Houser of Elizabethton, TN and one daughter; Sherry Lynn Houser of Greenfield, three grandchildren; Wesley, Nicole and Courtney, five great grandchildren; Quinn, Gabriel, Isaac, Raygan and Sophia and one brother; Gary Day of Frankfort. Helen was preceded in death by her one sister, Betty Dunn and her two brothers, William Day and Dick Pierce.
Helen was a graduate of Frankfort High School, Class of 1951. She was a loving and devoted wife and mother. Her father, Rev. Blenn Day, was the preacher at the Greenland Tabernacle, where Helen was song leader for several years. Currently, Helen was a faithful member at the Chapel of Hope in Greenfield.
A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, September 10, 2025, at 1 p.m. at the EBRIGHT FUNERAL HOME, Frankfort with Pastor Randy Abbott officiating. Following the funeral service, Helen will be laid to rest beside her husband, Raymond, in Greenlawn Cemetery, Frankfort. Family and friends can visit on Wednesday at the funeral home from 11 a.m. until the time of the funeral.
