Harold Eugene Campbell 90 of Waverly passed from this life 7:45 pm Friday, March 8, 2024, at the Pavilion of Piketon following a battle with cancer. He was born Monday, July 3, 1933, in Meigs County to the late John and Serena (White) Campbell. He graduated from Grove City High School where he played basketball with his twin brother Howard; he was an US Army Veteran, he retired from Columbus Coated Fabrics, and he was a big Buckeye sports fan. Harold also enjoyed watching many other sports, gardening and golfing with his twin brother.

On June 21, 1999, he married the former Shirley (Mohr) Holbert, who survives. He is also survived by 4 children Gary Campbell and Theresa Anderson both of Lancaster, Tommy Campbell of Centerville and Rita Burgilllio of Austin, Texas; 4 stepchildren Robert (Trish) Holbert and Thomas (Bridget) Holbert both of Bainbridge, Lori (Tom) McGraw and Vernon (Drema) Holbert both of Waverly; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, step grandchildren and step great grandchildren; sister-in-law Kitty Campbell and several nieces and nephews including a special niece Linda Groves of Groveport.

In addition to his parents Harold was preceded in death by his son Michael Campbell, stepson Richard Holbert and his twin brother Howard Blaine Campbell.

The family would like to thank the National Church Residence Southern Hospice Team for the care they provided Harold.

Graveside services will be held 2 pm Tuesday, March 12, 2024, in the Twin Township Cemetery, Bourneville with Chaplain Kevin Greene officiating and military honors by the Ross County Honor Guard. 

The Smith-Moore-Ebright Funeral Home in Bainbridge is serving the family.
