Gerald Lee "Jerry" Hurley

Gerald L. "Jerry" Hurley was born August 4, 1948, in Fayette County the son of the late Glenn and Mary Stewart Hurley, the Lord called him home August 7, 2016.

He is survived by his wife Ruth Tong Hurley; five children, Angie Seymour and husband Donnie, George Riley and wife Denise, Kim Rapp and husband Mark, Mike Hurley and friend Laura and Melissa Hurley; 10 grandkids and 13 great grandkids; two sisters, Lorraine Sams and June Johnson and husband Mike; brother, Charles R. Hurley and wife Earnestine of Leesburg, GA; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by sister, Ruth Johnson and brothers, Glenn Hurley, Jr and Johnny Hurley.

Jerry was a Marine who served in Vietnam. He received several certificates of accommodation for artillery fire direction control man during operation Pipestone Canyon. He was discharged with honors for testimonial of honesty. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather who had many friends. He worked for 20 years at the VA Hospital in Chillicothe

Funeral services will be held 2 pm Thursday, August 11, 2016 at the SMITH-MOORE-EBRIGHT Funeral Home of Bainbridge. Burial will follow in the Twin Township Cemetery with military honors accorded by the Ross County Honor Guard. Friends may visit with Jerry's family from 5-8 pm Wednesday at the funeral home.
