Gene Franklin Smith

Gene Franklin Smith, 80, of Greenfield, died unexpectedly at his home. He was born on Friday, April 19, 1946, in Fayette County, a son of the late Donald H. and Betty Ann Madder Smith.

He is survived by his four children; Randy (Debbie) Smith of Greenfield, Tina Beverly and Theresa Smith, both of Hillsboro and Sarah Smith. Gene is survived by his thirteen grandchildren and several great-grandchildren and one brother; Jerry (Janet) Smith of Bainbridge. He was preceded in death by one son; Brian Smith.

Gene was a graduate of Buckskin High School. He was a dedicate employee at the Bill Boatman Company. Gene was an avid and experienced hunter.

Following cremation, Gene will be laid to rest in the family plot at South Salem Cemetery at the convenience of the family. No services will be held. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
