Frances "PIP" Marie Smith

Frances Marie Smith
September 29, 1923 – February 18, 2018

Ninety-four blessed years Frances Marie Husted-Smith, better known as Pip, lived and loved upon this Earth. She was the daughter of the late Edward and Martha Shoemaker-Husted. She was the baby sister to four siblings who preceded her in death: Milton “Jigs” Husted, Melvin Husted, Elizabeth Watkins and Gladys Husted. She was the loving wife of the late William Howard Smith; loving mother to the late Walter Edward “Buddy” and his wife Elva Jean Smith, who survives. Also surviving are: son, William Rodger “Butch” Smith, 4 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren. She also extended love to: 3 step grandchildren, 7 step great grandchildren and 4 step great-great grandchildren along with beloved nieces, nephews and cousins. She touched the lives of many and will be missed by all including her extended “neighborhood grandkids”.

Pip was a talented baker, sewer, artist, musician and poet. She loved midnight rides, slumber parties, camping at “Lake Pike” with Darlene, Donna, Jill and Marianne. She could play a mean hand of poker and enjoyed playing Skipbo with her great grandchildren. She loved animals especially her dogs Rufus, Penny, Chi-Chi and Tiny, her parakeet Screech and numerous cats. She loved her birdie byes, the hummingbirds were her favorite. She made an amazing coconut cream pie and always had a cold glass of tea on hand. She loved her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and enjoyed praising Him through singing old hymns and by attending the United Methodist Church in Nipgen, Ohio. Pip loved her family and friends unconditionally. Her advice to all would be to treasure each day and to take care of those you love. Never grow too old or too busy to make time for those who love you and who have invested their time and energy in you. Be kind…..always.

Funeral services will be held 2 pm Friday, February 23, 2018 at the SMITH-MOORE-EBRIGHT Funeral Home of Bainbridge with Pastor Haden Davis officiating. Burial will follow in the Twin Township Cemetery. Friends may call from 1 pm until the time of service at the funeral home on Friday.
