Ezra E. Starkey, Jr., 76, of Frankfort, died early Friday morning, February 9, 2024, at his home. He was born on Monday, April 7, 1947, in Isaban, West Virginia, the son of the late Ezra and Ruby Daniels Starkey. Junior married the former Diana Bandy on February 22, 1969.

He is survived by his wife, Diana, their three daughters: Melissa Bennett, Danielle Starkey and Samantha Starkey. Four grandchildren; Chloe Mosley, Campbell Ousley, Isabella Avellanet, and Sophia Avellanet and two great grandchildren; Aiden Lucas Grant and Andie Jane Mosley. Also surviving are his five sisters; Chanaleene Cremeans of Clarksburg, Silverine Rowe of Floral City, FL, Clara Kaseman of Crestview, FL, Linda Church of Wellington, KY and Jean Thomas of South Vienna, OH, two brothers; Eddie Starkey of Zephyrhills, FL, Ray Starkey of Cocoa Beach, FL. Junior was preceded in death by two brothers; Jeff and Clarence Starkey.

Ezra was a four-year veteran of the United States Navy, having served during the Vietnam War. He retired from DEEM. Junior was never one who could just sit around. When he wasn't working on air conditioning, he would be working on his farm. Each spring planting and fall harvest would be his time doing what he wanted.

Family and friends will gather on Wednesday, February 14, 2024, from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the EBRIGHT FUNERAL HOME, Frankfort. Military honors will be accorded at the funeral home at 4 p.m. by the Ross County Veterans Honor Guard and the U.S. Navy. Following cremation, his cremains will be buried in Little Mound Cemetery, Richmond Dale. In lieu of flowers, memorial contribution can be made in his memory to the Wounded Warrior Project.
