Everett Eugene "Gene" Secrest

Everett Eugene "Gene" Secrest, 68, of Frankfort, died unexpectedly on Monday, September 27, 2010 in Mt Carmel West Hospital, Columbus as a result of injuries sustained from a motorcycle accident. He was born on June 19, 1942 in Ross County the son of Carl F. and Betty Kinnison Secrest. On December 24, 1979 he married the former Peggy McConahay, who survives.



Also surviving are his father; Carl F. Secrest of Chillicothe, children; Missy (Tony) Thomas of Chillicothe, Rhonda Carroll of Ashville, Reggie Wright, Shawn Ramsey, Carl Secrest and Alli, Monica Secrest and Nate, all of Chillicothe, T.J. Secrest and Mark of Clarksburg, 12 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, sisters; Clara (Gary) Congrove of Chillicothe, Rosemary DeLong of Frankfort, Joyce (Bill) Sanford of Chillicothe, brothers; Kenneth (Donna) Secrest of Chillicothe, Ron (Mern) Secrest of Frankfort, Ed (Sue) Secrest of Frankfort, numerous friends which were considered family, and his brothers in The Lost Tribe Motorcycle Club. He was preceded in death by his mother, Betty Secrest, grandson, Mark Secrest, and brother, Harold Secrest.



Gene was an active member of The Lost Tribe Motorcycle Club of Chillicothe and had worked for Brewer and Brewer and Sons of Chillicothe.



Funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm on Friday, October 1, 2010 in the Ebright Funeral Home, Frankfort with Rev. Jim Harper officiating. Burial will follow in the Greenlawn Cemetery, Frankfort. Friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday, from 4 to 8pm. Memorial contributions are suggested to the WesBanco Branch on Water St, Chillicothe, to assist the family.
