Eileen Hatfield

I. Eileen (Meldick) Hatfield, 89, formerly of Bainbridge, OH passed from this life on Thursday, June 18, 2026, at Traditions of Chillicothe. She was born January 30, 1937, in Ross County to the late Lillie Meldick. On April 5, 1958, she married Robert Lloyd Hatfield, who died November 30, 2015. In addition to her mother and husband, Eileen was preceded in death by her daughter Stephanie Hatfield; sisters Karen Keech and Shirley Meldick; brothers Kaye E. and Robert Meldick.

She is survived by a granddaughter, Tessa Rinehart (Jamie Kroetsch); great grandsons Robert Caden Elliot Kroetsch and Cameron James Kroetsch; sisters Pat Cross, Roberta VonBargen and Rosie Debartolo; and several nieces and nephews.

Eileen worked in human resources at Mead for more than 40 yrs. She was a member of the Bainbridge Church of Christ and through the years was a part of many organizations. She was a member of the Fall Festival of Leaves committee for 43 yrs where she served as the secretary/treasurer for the majority of her tenure, and the Queen Chaperone for 25 yrs; she also served on the Ohio Festival Events Association for many years. She served on the volunteer Life Squad, Garden Club and Ladies Golf Teams, and was a lifetime member of the Order of Eastern Star.

The family would like to thank NCR Hospice, Traditions of Chillicothe, Nurse Sherri, Pastor Aaron, and Aides Leah and Maggie for their care and compassion during this difficult time.

Funeral services will be held at 3 pm Monday, June 22, 2026, at the SMITH-MOORE-EBRIGHT Funeral Home in Bainbridge, OH with Troy Villars officiating. Cremation will take place following the service and Eileen will be interred in the Bainbridge Cemetery beside her husband Bob. Friends may visit with Eileen’s family from 2-3 pm Monday at the Funeral Home.
