Dorothy P VanDyke

Dorothy P. VanDyke, 86, of Greenfield, died at 3:12 P.M.  on Friday, August 11, 2017 at Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus. She was born on December 27, 1930 in Highland County, the daughter of the late Ralph and Jessie Barney Helterbrand. On November 8, 1952 she married Jesse E. VanDyke who preceded her in death on April 2, 2011.

She is survived by one son; Roger (Sandra) VanDyke of Circleville, one grandson; Joseph VanDyke, one great grandson; Jason VanDyke, four sisters; Imogene Paugh and Maxine VanDyke  both of Greenfield, Edith Druce of Missouri and Thelma Taylor of Hillsboro, two brothers; Bob Helterbrand of Tennessee and Charles Helterbrand of Greenfield. She was preceded in death by one brother; Daniel.

Dorothy was a 1948 graduate of Sinking Springs High School. She worked many years at the U.S. Shoe Factory in Greenfield and later worked for Greenfield Research where she retired.

A funeral service will be held at 1:00 P.M.  on Tuesday, August 15, 2017 at the ANDERSON-EBRIGHT FUNERAL HOME, Greenfield with  Pastor Randy Abbott officiating. Burial will follow in the Greenfield Cemetery. Friends may visit with Dorothy’s family on Tuesday from 11:00 A.M. until the time of service at the funeral home.
