Dora Mae Johnson

Dora Mae Johnson 91 of Chillicothe unexpectedly passed from this life on Thursday, July 20, 2023, at Adena Regional Medical Center, Chillicothe. She was born August 9, 1931, in Ross County, the daughter of the late Elza and Agnes (Gragg) Bridenbaugh. On October 28, 1948, Dora Mae married Dale E. Johnson, Sr. who preceded her in death along with a sister Roberta Steele; a brother Robert “Bud” Bridenbaugh; a grandson Remington Johnson; and a daughter-in-law Teresa Johnson.

She is survived by 5 sons, Roger (Barb), Gene (Linda), Dale Jr. “Duke” (Jane), Rob and Bob (Betra) Johnson; 10 grandchildren and several great and great great grandchildren; a brother Elza (June) Bridenbaugh and a niece that was like a sister to her, Diane (Jim) Kellough.

Dora Mae was a member of the Valley Church and she loved going to church when she was able.

There will be a graveside service 1 pm Tueday, July 25, 2023 in the Floral Hills Memorial Garden with Pastor Lou Watson officiating. There will be no callings hours observed. In lieu of flowers Dora Mae requested contributions be given to the center of Cardiovascular Research, The Abigail Wexner Research Institute, Nationwide Children's Hospital, 700 Childrens Dr. Research Bldg. III, Columbus, OH 43205.
