Cordelia "Deedy" Shull

Cordelia "Deedy" Shull, 86, of Chillicothe, died in Adena Regional Medical Center, Chillicothe, on Monday, October 23, 2023. She was born on Thursday, October 29, 1936, in Ross County, the daughter of the late Ernest E. and Opal Ater Alexander. On June 26, 1954, she married James C. Shull, and he preceded her in death on April 24, 2002.

Surviving are her two daughters, Judy (Buddy) Walls of Bainbridge, Elaine Shull of Wilmington, three grandchildren, James Matthew Walls, Miranda Wurzbach, Kara Barnett, eight great-grandchildren, Hayli Walls, Lance Walls, Lilly Walls, Peyton Wurzbach, Morgan Wurzbach, Bronson Wurzbach, Blakely Barnett, Maddie Barnett, three great-great grandchildren, two sisters, Linda Davis of West Virginia, and Ethel Carroll of Clarksburg, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one sister, and six brothers.

Deedy loved being a wife and mother. Her family was her greatest joy and most important thing in her life. She enjoyed music and singing with her husband, Jim. She made many memories signing country music, including meeting and opening up a concert for George Jones, making her own country record, and doing many shows at the Paint Valley Jamboree.

Deedy will be cremated and buried in Brown's Chapel Cemetery, Clarksburg at her family's convenience. She will be laid to rest with her husband, Jim.
