Clara Jane Roll, 95, of Frankfort, passed away Tuesday evening, August 11, 2026, at 11:10 p.m. in the Adena Regional Medical Center, Chillicothe. She was born on Monday, April 13, 1931 in Frankfort, a daughter of the late Harley Jacob and Mary Louise Emrich McCollister. On May 7, 1950, in Greenup, Kentucky, she married George W. Roll. George preceded her in death on February 17, 1972.
She is survived by her two daughters; Carolyn Sullivan of Chillicothe and Marilyn Perkins of Groveport, three grandchildren; Mandy (Jason) Sullivan Dyke, Abby (Adam) Rowley and Troy Sullivan, three great-grandchildren; Gage and Archer Dyke and Zackery Rowley. Clara Jane was preceded in death by her son; Glen R. Roll, two brothers; Joseph and Bobby McCollister, two sons-in-law; Alan Perkins and Roger Sullivan and one brother-in-law; Lester Kinnamon.
Clara Jane was the salutatorian of the 1949 class of Frankfort High School. While in high school she was a cheerleader, was in the band and played the violin. Following high school, Clara Jane worked for Dr. Ernest Cutlip, served as the Clerk for Concord Township and retired from Adena Schools where she had served as the Treasurer of the school system.
She was active in many organizations in Frankfort., She was a lifetime member of the Frankfort United Methodist Church, now the Old Town Heritage Church. She had been a member of the Concord Chapter #520, Order of Eastern Star and was a current member of the Chillicothe Chapter Order of Eastern Star. Clara Jane was an original member of the Canasta Club in Frankfort, where for 60 years on the third Tuesday of every month, she and the other ladies joined together for food, laughter and a good game of Canasta. She loved going to yard sales and on Friday nights, out for dinner with Ginny, Betty Mae and Jo.
Clara Jane's family wishes to thank Adena Hospice and all the nurses and aides who gave wonderful care to her. Her family also wishes to thank each person who took time to come and sit with her and help in any way they could. It gave comfort to Clara Jane to know so many cared about her.
Family and friends will gather for visitation at the EBRIGHT FUNERAL HOME, Frankfort on Monday, August 17, 2026, from 11 a.m. until noon. At noon, a procession will go to Greenlawn Cemetery, Frankfort, where a graveside service will be held and officiated by Pastor Cliff Rowe and Rev. Neil Foster. Following the service, Clara Jane will be laid to rest beside her husband, George. In lieu of flowers, please honor Clara Jane's memory by donating in her memory to Concord Township EMS, Adena Hospice, or Frankfort Old Town Heritage Church.
