Charlotte M. Purvis

Charlotte Shelton Purvis, 82 went peacefully to be with her Lord on June 20th, 2022 at her home battling an illness for some time. She was born April 10th, 1940 to the late William Archie and Viola Shelton. She was predeceased in death by her husband, Walter Gene Purvis; brother Rodney Shelton, sister Geraldine Shelton.

She is survived by her boyfriend Neil Dennewitz, son Brian (Linda) Purvis of Bainbridge, daughter Maria (Jack) Dingus of Bainbridge, Renee (Rob) Trout of Chillicothe; grandchildren Aaron Purvis, Tiffany (Nate) Spangler, Jacob (Derya) Dingus, Brandon (Kristin) Trout, and Nathan Trout. Great-grandchildren: Cody and Austin Garrison,  Justin and Isabelle Dingus, Elizabeth, Amelia and Nicholas Trout, Bryce Blaney and Kylea Spangler, a sister Bonnie (Clark) Posey and numerous nieces, nephews and special friends.

Charlotte was a retired bus driver and Assistant Treasurer of Paint Valley Schools. She was a founding member of the Paxton Area Life Squad and frequent nurse to neighbors and their children. She worked as a medical assistant for Dr. John Patterson. She was an aerobics instructor.   At the age of 13 she worked for Dr. Cutright. She was a long-time member of the Bainbridge Church of Christ.

Funeral services will be 2:30 pm Friday, June 24, 2022 at the Bainbridge Church of Christ with Steve Henderson officiating, burial will follow in the Bainbridge Cemetery. Friends may call from 5-8 pm Thursday at the church.
