Carol L. Dennis

Carol L. Dennis, 86, of Frankfort, died on Thursday morning, January 29, 2026, at Adena Regional Medical Center, Chillicothe. She was born on June 1, 1939, in Chillicothe, a daughter of the late, Reuben and Eula Jane Hawk Richardson. On June 20, 1959, she married Thomas E. Dennis, Jr., and he preceded her in death on December 3, 2025.

Surviving Carol are her daughter, Sally Jo (Derek) Cartee of Chillicothe, sister, Barbara Abernathy of Frankfort, sister-in-law, Joyce Dennis of Fairborn, nieces, Judi (Duane) Halcomb, Jane Abernathy, and Kim Abernathy, all of Frankfort, several cousins, including David (Gail) Skye of Bexley, several great-nieces and great-nephews, and special friends, Joan Steiner and Marjorie Smith. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Tom, as well as their two sons, Thomas Alex Dennis and Stephen "Spank" Dennis, her father and mother-in-law, Tom (Mary) Dennis, sister-in-law, Jane Dennis, niece, Carol Abernathy McQuiniff, as well as friends, Donna Roll, Eleanor Karshner, and Janice Wood, and all of her pet dogs, including, Sunny.

Carol was a 1957 graduate of Frankfort High School. She retired from being an X-Ray technician. She had worked at Fayette County Memorial Hospital in Washington Court House.

In keeping with Carol's wishes, she will be cremated and no calling hours or funeral service will be held. Following her cremation, Carol will be buried in Greenlawn Cemetery, Frankfort, next to her husband, Tom. Those who wish to share a memory of Carol may do so by signing her online register book.
