Carl William “Dutch” Knisley 84 of Bainbridge passed from this life Monday, January 18, 2021 at Edgewood Manor, Greenfield. He was born at home on June 2, 1936 in Ross County, Ohio to the late Oakley and Marie (Lytle) Knisley.
In addition to his parents Dutch was preceded in death by his stepdad Roscoe Morris and brothers Gene Knisley and Mark Morris.
Carl is survived by five sons Kevin Douglas, Duane Edward, Martin Carl, Gregory Allen (Regina) and Eric Todd (Chasity) Knisley; 10 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren; and several other relatives and friends.
Carl was very proud of his military service, he was inducted into the Army on July 9, 1959 in Chillicothe, Ohio where he served 1 year 11 months and 18 days. After 18 months of service in Germany he was honorably discharged on June 26, 1961 at Fort Hamilton, NY. Dutch was a member of the Ohio Laborers’ Union from which he retired in August of 1994. He also enjoyed gardening.
A graveside service will be held 1:00 pm Friday, January 22, 2021 in the Twin Township Cemetery with military honors by the Ross County Honor Guard. . Those attending the service will need to wear a face mask and observe social distancing. There will be no public visitation. The SMITH-MOORE-EBRIGHT Funeral Home of Bainbridge is serving the family.
