Bill J. Thompson, 82, of Frankfort, passed away on Sunday, January 24, 2021 at the Fayette County Memorial Hospital, Washington C.H.. He was born on Sunday, March 27, 1938 in Webbville, Kentucky, the son of the late Marvin and Thelma White Thompson.  

Bill is survived by his wife of fifty-eight years, the former Carol Walters. Bill and Carol have two daughters, Sheri (Spencer) Cochenour and Terri (David) Dowler all of Frankfort, two grandsons, Adam Dowler and Tommy Dowler, one sister, Fern Arnold of Texas, niece Cindy Butler, nephews Doug and Roger Arnold, a special cousin, Janet Rower of New Jersey, two best friends, Charlie Briggs and Carl Coonrod of Frankfort and several nieces, nephews and close friends.  

Bill was a graduate of Washington Senior High School in Washington C.H. He was a truck driver for Thompson Transfer and retired after thirty-five years of service. He was a member of the Dry Run United Methodist Church. 

His family was an important part of his life. Bill loved to go to the Ross County Fair. Each year he and Carol would look forward to attending the Baxter family reunion. Carol with him, they traveled many miles in their RV seeing many different sights throughout the United States. At home, Bill loved to volunteer at the Food Bank, gardening, feeding the birds and wildlife and caring for their pets.

Following cremation, a family graveside service will be held at the convenience of the family in Greenlawn Cemetery, Frankfort. The EBRIGHT FUNERAL HOME, Frankfort is serving the family.
