Betty Jo Dennis, 72, of Chillicothe, passed away Friday evening, August 7, 2026, at 11:15 p.m. in the Adena Regional Medical Center, Chillicothe. She was born on Sunday, January 24, 1954, in Greenfield, a daughter of the late Glen D. "Jake" and Patricia E. "Patty" Miller Free. Betty married Billy M. Dennis on June 21, 1975. He preceded her in death on May 21, 2024.

She is survived by her daughter; Samantha (Scott) Brady of Chillicothe, her son; Billy R. (Jennifer) Dennis of Ashville, five grandchildren; Skylar, Kylee, Kyle, Jacob and Steven, three great-grandchildren; Nolan, Audrey and Bentley. She is also survived by her two sisters; Janet (Arlan) Dailey of Frankfort and Sue Ann Kinzer of Cincinnati, one brother; Lloyd (Brenda) Free of Frankfort, and several nieces and nephews. Betty is also survived by her faithful four-legged companion, her dog, Frank. She was preceded in death by one brother; Tad Free.

Betty was a 1972 graduate of Adena High School. She inherited her hard work ethic from her Mom and Dad. She loved her family and she will be missed by all of them.

Following cremation, a graveside service will be held on Saturday, August 22, 2026, at 10:30 a.m. in the Greenlawn Cemetery, Frankfort with Pastor Dan Bennett officiating. Following the service, Betty will be laid to rest beside her husband, Billy. No visitation will be held. In lieu of flowers, Betty loved animals, and to honor that love, her family requests memorial contributions be sent to your local animal shelter in her name. The EBRIGHT FUNERAL HOME, Frankfort is assisting the family.
