Barbara Edgington

Barbara E. Edgington, 81, of Frankfort, died at 1:38 p.m. in the OSU Wexner Medical Center, Columbus. She was born on Saturday, August 9, 1941, in Chillicothe, the daughter of the late William Grant and Betty Arledge McDonald. On March 9, 1985, she married David E. Edgington.

She is survived by her husband, David, one daughter, Brenda (Jim) George of Chillicothe, one son, Steve (Patti) Loel of Chillicothe, five grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, two sisters; Pam (Roger) Free and Teresa (Jim) Hatton, seven brothers: Bill McDonald, Jerry (Pat) McDonald, Dick (Stephanie) McDonald, Bob (Debbie) McDonald, Jack McDonald, Tim (Susan) McDonald and Tom (Cheryl) McDonald. She was preceded in death by two sisters-in-law: Vicki McDonald and Lila McDonald

Barb was a 1959 graduate of Clarksburg High School. While in high school she was a cheerleader for four years, played on the Volleyball team and ran track, she played in the band and sang in the Glee Club. She was also a member of the Future Homemakers Association, and she taught dance lessons for the children. She was a member of the Frankfort United Methodist Church, the Frankfort Historical Society, Frankfort American Legion Auxiliary and the Antique Machinery Club.

Barb was always busy doing something. Her work history spanned over thirty-five years. She had worked at Wear Ever in Chillicothe, the Ross County Clerk of Courts and in 2000, she retired from the Ohio Department of Transportation where she was an Administrative Assistant.

A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Monday, June 19, 2023, in the EBRIGHT FUNERAL HOME, Frankfort, with Pastor Neil Foster officiating. Friends may visit with Barb's family from 11 a.m. until the time of the service. A graveside service will be held on Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Greenlawn Cemetery, Frankfort.
