Arthur W. Clyburn, 61, of Columbus, died on Tuesday, December 27, 2022, at 2:40 a.m. in his home. He was born in Summersville, West Virginia on Saturday, September 23, 1961, the son of the late John William "Bill" and Maxine E. Bartels Clyburn.
Art is survived by his sisters; Jude Knisley of Tipp City, OH, Janet Holcomb of Columbus, Jill Emche of Charlotte, NC and Jennifer (Fred) Simons of Stansbury Park, Utah. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews and friends. Art was preceded in death by a special nephew, Nathaniel Smith.
He was a 1979 graduate of the Edward Lee McClain High School. Art worked at several vocations during his life. He had been a Deputy Sheriff in Highland County where he was a jailer for many years. Art had spent time in Alaska using his mechanic skills rebuilding a diesel engine on a boat. He continued using his many skills as a maintenance worker at several local factories.
Art was baptized at the St. Benignus Catholic Church in Greenfield where he was proud that he had served as an Alter Boy. Later in life, he attended the Greenfield First Baptist Church. His Christian faith was very important to him. Art joined the Masonic Lodge in Dayton when he was living in Hillsboro.
In keeping with his wishes, he will be cremated. His family will hold a time together for the public to visit with them at the ANDERSON-EBRIGHT FUNERAL HOME, Greenfield, on Saturday, December 31, 2022 beginning at 11 a.m. and will conclude at noon. His family friend, Thom Hudnell, will share and offer a prayer at noon. At a later date, Art will be buried next to his mom and dad in Greenfield Cemetery.
