Albert Roger McIntier, 82, of Bloomingburg, passed away on Friday morning, March 27, 2026, at Hospice of Dayton. He was born on Saturday, October 30, 1943, in Middleton, CT, the tenth of eleven children of Ralph and Caroline (Kashamer) McIntier. Albert met Shela Ann Gregg at Lilly Chapel while he was stationed in the Air Force at Rickenbacker Air Force base. They were married October 5, 1968, and they spent 44 years together.
He is survived by his second wife; Teresa, and they lived several years in Bloomingburg. Albert is survived by his five children and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; Shelley (Rich) Morris and their five children, Caroline (Larry) Sussman and their two children, Galen (Stephenie) McIntier and their two children, Albert (Katie) McIntier and their five children, Lenora (John, deceased) Stanford and their three children; and four stepdaughters, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Also surviving is one sister, Carol Carrado and two brothers, Joe and Tom McIntier. He was proceeded in death by seven brothers and sisters and one son-in-law, John Stanford.
Following high school, Albert enlisted in the United States Air Force and was a veteran of the Vietnam War. He served as a Load Master on a C130 aircraft and attained the rank of Sergeant. For over forty years he farmed in partnership with his father-in-law, Galen C. Gregg. During that time, he also drove a school bus for Madison-Plains School, and he retired in 2010 having driven for 22 years.
Albert’s family will visit with friends at the Ebright Funeral Home, Frankfort, on Tuesday, March 31, 2026, from 11 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 1 p.m. with Rev. Gordon Ell officiating. Following the service, Albert will be laid to rest in Greenlawn Cemetery, Frankfort. Full military honors will be accorded at the graveside by the United States Air Force and the Ross County Veterans Honor Guard.
