Myron W. Yoakem, 83, of Bainbridge, died at 10:38 a.m. on Friday, July 6, 2018 at Adena Greenfield Medical Center. He was born on August 8, 1934 in Pike County, the son of the late Roy and Flossie Mitchell Yoakem. On August 18, 1954 he married the former Betty M. Shoemaker who survives.
Other survivors include his children; Jack L. (Beverly) Yoakem and Debbie (Wayne) Barnhart of Bainbridge, Ron M. (Lea) Yoakem of Frankfort, Lori Yoakem of Bainbridge, Jenny Yoakem of Chillicothe and Kevin (Chris) Yoakem of South Salem, eleven grandchildren; Jeremy, Tonya, Ryan, Justin, Jessica, Nicole, Grayson, Shelby, Jonah, Ben and Bailey, seven great-grandchildren; Abri, Jacob, Jonathon, Emma, Lucia, Sebastian and Alex, and one sister; Sally Bowles of Bainbridge. He was preceded in death by five sisters, seven brothers and one great-grandchild; Charlie Cosentino.
Myron worked all of his life as a carpenter, having built or worked on many of the properties in the community. He was a staple of the Bainbridge community and an avid fisherman. He was a wonderful husband and father who dearly loved his family and friends.
In keeping with Myron’s wishes cremation has taken place. A gathering of family and friends will take place from 3:00-5:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 14, 2018 in the SMITH-MOORE-EBRIGHT FUNERAL HOME, Bainbridge. In lieu of flowers, please make a contribution in Myron's memory to the Paxton Area Life Squad or to the funeral home to help with expenses.
